Kajonk-A-Con, Dec. 5-7, Knoxville, TN

Edit: If you're here for photos from the con, you can check my photos section or Flickr (same photos, but going directly to my Flickr account may be a bit faster).

Just a little bit of promotion here for a local Knoxville event--Kajonk-A-Con is going to be held December 5-7 at the UT Conference Center.

Kajonk-A-Con is an anime and gaming convention. They will feature a lineup of concerts as well as panels by Jon LaCure, a professor with UT's Japanese Language Department. (There's a listing of panels and guests on their site.)

They're relatively new (I think this is their second year), so they're not as big as MTAC or AWA, but they do have one advantage--they're local. It's worth supporting just to establish an event like this in Knoxville. Pre-registration is $20 through Dec. 3 or $35 at the door. UT students can get in for $10.

As a side note, Chainsaw Buffet is going to have a table at KAC. So, you know, you can come by and meet some of the famous guys behind the famous podcast. Or something.

Art Table

Will you offer art tables this year, as you did last year? I need to have an answer, so we can preregister and start planning our stock for the show. This is my third request and I still haven't heard from you----please respond. Thank you. Monica

Wow

I had no idea you were running Kajonk-A-Con! Surprised you would keep that from me!

Er, not so much.

Why, so you could enlist more of my event-organizing expertise in running CodeStock?

This may be a side effect of "act awesome and people will believe it." Have a decently professional blog, promote a local event, and suddenly people think you're part of the staff. :)
