Halloween Party

Photos from the Halloween party are up.

For those interested, here was my costume:

And here's what I was going for, more or less. This wasn't full-on "I will look exactly like this character" cosplay; it was more using this as a guide:

Nevertheless, I'll probably end up wearing this to some of the upcoming cons. Of course, I'll need to do some work:

• A wig of some sort to actually make it look like the character.
• There's an actual, real way of folding the skirt portion of the outfit. And it looks better than wrapping a sheet of cloth around your waist.
• Might not be a bad idea to find some red canvas-y material for the belt rather than the off-white it is now. That, or dye the existing belt, if it's possible. Yes, I'm nitpicking.
• I'd like to redo the robe, if only to (1) make the diamond pattern the proper size, and (2) make it something not a bathrobe.

So ideally, I should just redo the whole costume.

OK, maybe when it comes down to it, I won't nitpick everything. :/ But it probably didn't help that while looking for the picture of Jin, on Google, I found a lot of pictures of better Jin outfits.
