New stuff on the site!

So I got around to adding some new features to the site: you can now reset your password. Yes, that's how lame my blog is right now: you can't even reset your password or change your profile.

Also, I widened the textboxes on the "edit page" form. But that's not something anyone else will see. Still, it helped me update my links page, which was woefully out-of-date.

I was going to add in tagging, since my meta keyword system closely resembles that. But then I found out my meta keyword system is so fubared that, while it still works for writing meta tags, there's no way it'll work for tags. So that idea has been scrapped for now.

Not that it really matters, since I'd have to go through and create all of the tags anyway, which I'd probably never do. Leading to one of the most depressing scenarios you'll ever face as a programmer: implementing a much-requested feature that no one takes the time to populate with valid data. So it's probably better that I don't add tags right now. :)

Yes, the perils of writing your own blog software. But working on it was sort of fun. Reminds me of the parts of Linux/Python that I love (coding in vi, zipping between files!) and the parts I hate (no strong types! no intellisense in vi!).

Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee! One long word in the text box and it does not scroll!!

Updating the site rocks!

Actually...

That's been there for a while. All I did was update the form I use to edit pages on the site.

But don't let that stop you from enjoying the benefits of textboxes that stretch to fill the page, though.

I believe Nathan you also have a custom build blog? I think there are some issues we can find =p People in glass blogs shouldn't throw comments... or something, lol.

GlassBlog

I think maybe this is the name I need to give to my blog software.

It works on two levels: first is all of the transparency effects on the current design, second is the fact it's probably more fragile than I would like to admit.
