- 1 c Crisco
- 3/4 c sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 tsp lemon extract
- 2 1/4 c sifted all-purpose flour
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp baking powder
- food coloring as desired
- colored sugar
Cream crisco until soft. Add sugar gradually; continue to cream until light-fluffy. Add egg, lemon extract. Beat. Sift flour, salt, baking powdere together; add in 3 additions, beat well after each addition. Add coloring as desired.
Roll dough in sizes to fit cookie gun. Wrap in wax paper and place in refrigerator overnight.
Using cookie gun, place on ungreased cookie sheet and sprinkle with colored sugar.
Bake at 400 degrees for 5-8 minutes.
Makes about 7 dozen cookies.
